In Latvia Covid-19 has been confirmed in 95 people

Last day, 4271 Covid-19 tests were performed in Latvia and 95 new cases were registered, reports the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).

The information at the disposal of the SPKC shows that 63 patients became infected from known sources of infection, four infected abroad - in Ukraine, Russia, Austria.

Infection conditions are specified for 28 persons. The epidemiological investigation is ongoing.

During the last day, five patients with Covid-19 were hospitalized, a total of 19 patients were treated in hospitals, 18 with moderate and one with a severe course of the disease.

A total of 229 patients were discharged from the hospital, according to the National Health Service.

A total of 320,018 examinations were performed in Latvia, 1,824 persons became ill and 1,307 recovered, and 37 died.

The case of Covid-19 has returned to Liepāja, Ozolnieki municipality, Saldus municipality and Stopiņi municipality, but in all municipalities the number of cases does not exceed the limit of five cases, according to the data compiled by SPKC.

Currently, seven infected people are registered in Talsi municipality, six in Preiļi municipality, however, yesterday the number of patients in both municipalities was in the range of one to five cases.

The largest number of infected persons was detected in Daugavpils last day - 41 people became ill with Covid-19, 18 cases were detected in Riga, 11 cases in Kuldīga region, and nine cases in Olaine region.

Two more patients were registered in Stopiņi and Ropaži counties, and in one case each - in Jūrmala, Liepāja, Jelgava, Carnikava municipality, Garkalne municipality, Ogre municipality and Ozolnieki municipality.

Of the 95 cases registered in the previous day, the highest incidence is in the age group of 50 to 59 years, where the number of infected is 18. The second largest age group affected by infection is in the age group of 60 to 69 years, where the number is registered. 15 cases were registered between the ages of 30 and 39, 13 between the ages of 30 and 39, 12 between the ages of 20 and 29, and 11 between the ages of 40 and 49.

Five cases were registered in the age group up to nine years and in the age group from 70 years.
